National Children’s Day – June 11, 2017

The second Sunday in June is known as National Children’s Day in the United States.

A day to honor the children in our lives, National Children’s Day is a time at SafeHouse Center where we focus on the services and programs that help children who currently call our shelter their home.  The trauma of domestic violence and sexual assault is felt by everyone in a family.  Most people do not know that 60% of our residents are actual children – most under the age of eight.

A donation made through June 11, 2017 will be matched up to $5,000 because of a generous donation made by a SafeHouse Center friend and supporter.  Please join her today by making a donation.

Your gift helps us provide structured activities that allow safe places for kids to talk and explore and an opportunity for children to heal and find hope. Our trained Children and Youth Advocates provide support to families to address any needs they have in the shelter and beyond. From playroom, to field trips, to summer camp, your donation allows us to help children overcome one of the most challenging experiences they will ever face and to provide fun and healing.
