For Survivors
SafeHouse Center provides free and confidential individual crisis support services to all survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault.
Our individual crisis support services are weekly, for up to 6 months. Our trained advocates provide survivors the opportunity to express their emotions surrounding the effects of trauma caused by domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and/or stalking in a supportive and confidential environment. Sessions can include talking through experiences, worksheets, and/or activities. Resources and referrals can be shared to assist with other immediate needs such as therapy, finances, housing, and/or employment.
Please note that individual crisis support services are not a substitute for therapy. Therapy typically can be short-term or long-term, may provide diagnosis or treatment and can focus on a broader range of concerns. If you are seeking a therapist, visit our Community Resources page.
For Friends and Family
We recognize that friends and family members have their own reactions to intimate partner violence or sexual assault that their loved ones have experienced. SafeHouse advocates are available to meet with the friends and family members of survivors for 1-2 sessions. These sessions are separate from the survivors’ sessions, will not be held by the same advocate and confidentiality will be upheld. This session is designed to provide support in an effort to empower the friends and family members to be an ally for the survivors in their lives.
