Year End 2022

A Fresh Start This Holiday Season

Over the past twelve months, our community and agency have endured a multitude of challenges amidst an organizational transition and the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite these disruptions, sacrifices and compromises, one thing has remained a constant that we should all be proud of and grateful for: SafeHouse Center has remained a true beacon of light in our community by empowering, uplifting and supporting survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

My name is Christine Watson and I am the newly selected Executive Director at SafeHouse Center. My involvement with Safe

House Center goes back to 2006 when I started out as a volunteer. Through this experience, my connection with SHC became one of the most important relationships in my life and led me on a journey and a career I never expected. I am proud to be celebrating almost 17 years of

commitment to SafeHouse Center as a staff member serving this community.

Even if you haven’t personally experienced domestic violence or sexual assault, you may know someone who has. On

average, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men have experienced some form of domestic violence. On average every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. It happens here, in our community. Knowing that someone you are acquainted with may have had one of these experiences, have you considered supporting them through a donation?

Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault need your help. There is strength in unity. Please help make a difference in our community by contributing to the safety of survivors in need.

Change and hope happen here. Our goal is to end domestic violence and sexual assault and with your help we can continue to work towards our goal.

“There is no better exercise for your heart than reaching down and helping to lift someone up.” –Bernard Meltzer

Thank you for your kind generosity and partnership,

Christine Watson
