The 6th Annual Jelly Bean Jump Up!

Help honor a great dog while supporting SafeHouse Center. Jelly Bean was the beloved corgi companion of Zingerman’s co-founder Ari Weinzweig, and during their 17 years together, they jogged past SafeHouse Center daily. Her loving personality modeled the kind of positive belief, hope, and generosity that SafeHouse Center is all about.

This year we are so happy that a host of fantastic community businesses are pitching in. Thank you to Zingerman’s, Plum Market, Tito’s Handmade Vodka,  The Graduate Hotel, Old National Bank, Probility Physical Therapy, Wag to Wiskers Pet Supplies, and K9 Club.

“Jelly Bean Jump Up” runs through February. Here are ways you can help out:

  1. Drop your donation into the blue boxes you’ll find at all Zingerman’s businesses, at The Graduate Hotel, at Old National Bank, at Probility Physical Therapy, Wags to Wiskers Pet Supplies, and the K9 Club.
  2. Shop at Plum Market Ann Arbor locations between Feb. 1st and Feb. 14th and you will be asked to make a donation when you check out at the registers. As a thank you, receive a bag of jelly beans! YUM!
  3. Tito’s Handmade Vodka, also known as the Vodka for Dog People has been a generous sponsor of Jelly Bean Jump Up since 2019. Every year, Zingerman’s Roadhouse features a cocktail made with Tito’s named to honor the memory of a beloved dog. For the 6th Annual Jelly Bean Jump Up, we named the cocktail Emmy’s Epitaph after Emmy, a dog who belonged to Zingerman’s Community Giving Coordinator Melaina Bukowski. The drink is available at the Roadhouse and also for ordering to-go: zcob.me/rh-togo

Emmy passed away in January 2021 after 17 years of love and adventure. She touched the lives of many but was the ever-loyal companion to her human mom, whose life Emmy showed up in when she was just 17 herself. They were each other’s best friends ever since. Emmy was sweet to everyone she knew, snored incredibly loudly in the most cartoony way possible, and loved taking nature hikes and camping. She will always be in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her and love her.
  4. Corgi Cookies  These terrifically tasty, handmade, beautifully-decorated sugar Corgi Cookies from the Bakehouse are out for sale at the Bakeshop, Deli and Roadhouse, at Plum Market. Everyone who sees them smiles, and they taste as good as they look, and the Bakehouse donates part of the proceeds from each cookie to the Jump Up
