Trauma and the Brain Workshop
Would you like to learn about why your body and mind reacted the way they did during a shocking/scary event? Or, do you have a loved one or client that is experiencing negative effects after a traumatic event in their life? During this online presentation, we will provide information that could help your healing process after a sexual assault and/or other traumas in your life so they will affect you less and less in the future. This presentation could also help you learn how to support someone who has experienced a traumatic event.
Topics include:
- “Neurobiological” reasons behind body’s/mind’s reactions during a shocking/frightening event.
- Ways of effectively coping with painful/disruptive trauma responses (like feeling jumpy)
Possible benefits from a trauma-informed response to the healing process may include:
- Validation
- Coping skills
- Decrease in self-blame/doubt
This virtual workshop is free and open to the public. Email emilyg@safehousecenter.org to RSVP. A link and password for the Zoom meeting will be emailed to you later near the event date.
